Born in Fall River, a son of the late Silver and Margaret (Toomey) Michaud, he spent his youth in Fall River, moving to Swansea 54 years ago. He was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School, earned his AB from Brown University, Class of 1950, and his MBA from Northeastern University, Class of 1968.
A Certified Public Accountant, (CPA) he was a professor of accounting and finance at Roger William College for over 20 years, retiring n 1995.
A United States Navy Veteran, he served aboard the USS Bullard Destroyer in combat in the South Pacific Theater. He also served in the US Marine Corps Reserves during the Berlin Crisis and was an active communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. A lifelong avid reader and walker, he was devoted to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving his children: John Michaud of Lexington, MA, Jane A. Cyr of Swansea, MA, David C. Michaud and Peter Michaud both of Providence, RI, Betsy Green of Middletown, RI and Paul Michaud of Swansea, one brother: Robert Michaud of Somerset, MA, one sister: Margaret McNally of Westport, MA, thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Thomas M. Michaud.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 9 AM from the WARING-SULLVIAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea with a funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor may be made to American Cancer Society, MA Chapter, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Burial private.
