

Helen M. (Cosgrove) Seavor, age 66, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Helen was the beloved wife of James N. Seavor for 36 years. Helen and Jim were residents of Swansea for the last 36 years.
Helen was the daughter of the late Walter H. Cosgrove, Sr. and Marilyn (Fleming) Cosgrove.
A self-employed Certified Public Accountant in MA and RI, Helen earned her Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laud from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. She earned an Associate’s degree in Business Administration with highest honors from Bristol Community College. Helen loved to spend time with family, reading and coloring. She especially loved the time spent over the years with her and Jim’s six Labradors.
The third eldest of fourteen children, Helen is survived by her siblings, Mary (Cosgrove) Mullarky, Rita (Cosgrove) McGuire O’Brien and her husband William, May (Cosgrove) Stinchcomb, Maureen Cosgrove, Ronald Cosgrove and his wife Melissa all of Fall River, Kathleen Cosgrove of Merrimack, NH, Charles Cosgrove and James Cosgrove of Westport, Geraldine (Cosgrove) Carr and her husband Michael of N. Scituate, RI, Gerald Cosgrove of Swansea and Elizabeth Cosgrove of Los Angeles, CA as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Helen was the sister of the late Walter Cosgrove, Jr. and Franklyn Cosgrove.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony’s Church, 2836 E Main Rd, Portsmouth, RI. Visitation prior from 7:45-8:45 AM in Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea. Burial in the Cosgrove family plot located in St. Columba’s Cemetery, Middletown, RI. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s honor may be made to Southcoast Visiting Nurse Association, 200 Mill Rd, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
