Mr. Williams was born June 4, 1923 in Fall River, MA to the late George F. Williams Sr. and Lydia (Turcotte) Williams. He was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School in the Class of 1942. While in school, Mr. Williams started his career as an electrician under the tutelage of his father. During World War II, he served in the Pacific as a submariner in the United States Navy. He was an Electrician’s Mate 2nd Class on the U.S.S. Cabezon. Upon returning, he married his wife of 61 years, the late Edna (Golonka) Williams. He worked at Montaup Electric from 1947-1984 and retired as an electrical-maintenance supervisor. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family at Horseneck Beach.
He is survived by one daughter Deborah A. Fransway and her husband John D. Fransway of Weare, NH, one granddaughter Alana C. Dust and her husband Alan S. Dust Jr. of Thiensville, WI, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Doris Cupples and Gladys Parker, and his two brothers, Normand and Gilbert Williams.
