Born in Pawtucket, RI, a son of the late James and Mary (Gorman) Crook, he was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School and attended Bryant College. He moved to Swansea 48 years ago.
Mr. Crook was a meat cutter for New England Poultry in Fall River for 8 years. Prior to that he was a textile printer in Connecticut for many years. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II and a member and former Commander for the Swansea American Legion Post #303. He was a former Swansea Selectman, a member of the Knights of Columbus of Pawtucket, very involved in the Boy Scouts and former President of the Swansea Little League.
Surviving in addition to his wife: Two sons: John Crook of Tiverton and Stephen Crook and wife Deborah of Akron, Ohio, Two daughters: Kathleen Sullivan and her husband William and Ann Antunes and her husband William all of Swansea, sister: Agnes Rioux of North Carolina, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late James, John, Joseph and Eileen Crook.
His funeral will be held Thursday June 9, 2011 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea.
