It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Denise Marie Boudria on Monday, November 18th, 2024 at the age of 63 after a lengthy battle with cancer. She spent her last days in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family and friends.
Denise was born in Fall River, MA to the late Raymond and Claire (St. Germain) Pelletier and will be lovingly remembered by her husband of forty-one years, Robert Boudria, and son, Daniel Boudria, both of Swansea, MA. She is survived by siblings Michelle (Gene Paul) Beaudoin of Dartmouth, MA, Lisa Desmarias (Marc) of Somerset, MA, and Ronald Pelletier (Denise) of Montville, ME. In addition to nieces Tess and Lauren, she is also survived by two nephews, Joseph and Eric, and was predeceased by niece Jessica.
There are also five children of close family friends who had adopted her as another grandparent: Maddy, Sophia, Kira, Cassie, and Harrison.
Dee was a 1978 graduate of Bishop Gerard High School in Fall River and went on to graduate from the Information Processing program at Diman Regional in Fall River. She also graduated from the Katharine Gibbs School in Providence, RI, and Bristol Community College in Fall River.
Using her skills and experience in computer software and business management, she found employment in a variety of industries including accounting, defense, non-profit, and manufacturing.
Denise was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed traveling, crocheting, needlepoint, and reading among other hobbies. She was a lifelong member of the East End Sportsmen’s Club in Fall River and a past officer of the club’s Auxiliary organization.
Always an avid bowler, she enjoyed contributing to her team’s success over their arch rival husbands and significant others across multiple seasons. During the summer much time was spent around campfires with family and friends while everyone was doing their best to prevent dehydration. In the winter months she enjoyed trying to defeat her husband while playing along with “Jeopardy!” on TV but let me tell you she wasn’t always successful. She liked games of skill and knowledge and was a formidable adversary except when it came to ping pong. Chalk one up for the husbands and significant others.
Denise will be greatly missed.
Her services are at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardner’s Neck Road, Swansea, MA 02777. Visitation hours are Tuesday, December 10th, 4-7pm and also Wednesday morning, December 11th, 10-11am. The memorial ceremony begins at 11am.
