Daniel P. Medeiros

Daniel P. Medeiros, age 59, of Swansea, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 unexpectedly at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Robin M. (Lavoie) Medeiros to whom he has been married for the past 39 years.

Born in Brockton, a son of Patricia (Rego) Medeiros of New Bedford and the late David Medeiros, he lived in Rochester for many years prior to moving to Swansea in 1989.

A graduate of Apponequet Regional High School, Class of 1982, he was a Veteran of the United States Army. Daniel was a master carpenter and jack of all trades. He worked as a maintenance technician for the Swansea Public School System.

An avid New England Patriots fan, he enjoyed coaching youth sports for his children, grandchildren and the community. He was past president of the Swansea Little League and involved in the Swansea Recreational League. He also enjoyed practicing Tai chi, fishing, hiking, and exploring historical sites. He loved spending time with his family and his furbabies, Piper and Willow.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jessica Medeiros of Warren, Janelle Pacheco and her husband Steven of East Providence, Patrick Medeiros and his wife Erin of Sterling, CT, Rochelle Medeiros of Swansea; two brothers, David Medeiros of Rochester, Darren Medeiros and his wife Doreen of Swansea; one sister, Sherri Schoorens and her husband Steven of New Bedford, twelve grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dennis Medeiros.

His visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, followed by his Funeral Service at 7:00PM in the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private.
