Anita Davis

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late James and Lillian (L’Heureux) Thorpe. Anita loved to travel and previously lived in Westport, Las Vegas, Florida and Rhode Island. She worked as a Personal Care Assistant in the medical industry and at Frito Lay for many years prior to her retirement.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Powers of New Bedford, Sandrea Dias and her husband Jeffrey of Swansea; one son, Gino Soares of Fall River; one brother, Gerald Thorpe of Fall River; two sisters, Lillian Paulo of Swansea and Jo Ann Mello and her husband Joe of Boston; seven grandchildren, Cory, Hollian, Brittney, Kelly, Jamie, Timothy and Tynisha; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Timothy and Victor Soares, sister of the late Jimmy Thorpe and Madeline Bissette, grandmother of the late Cassie Amarantes, mother-in-law of the late Rick Powers and sister-in-law of the late Daniel Paulo and Lucille Thorpe.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 12:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest,189 Gardners Neck Rd, Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation will be held prior to her service from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to National Hospice and Palliative Care, 1731 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314. Burial private.
