Yolanda was born on May 18, 1925 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia. She is the daughter of Bert and Margaret Gatto. Yolanda began her nursing career at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal and continued on at the Veterans Hospital in St Anne's, Quebec, and later at Shaughnessy and Peace Arch Hospitals.
She loved cooking, gardening and sharing her life with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons Brett, Les and John; her grandchildren Esther, Sharon, Caitlin, Hannah, Evangeline, Sawyer, Isaiah, Django and Taj; her sisters Bertelle McMillan and Dolly Meisels, her brother Ernest Gatto and her sister-in-law Eileen Schneider.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Frank Lovett and later Jocob Brotzel, brothers Bernie and Jack Gatto and sister Irene.
