Victoria Edna Prince (nee Jossul), aged 90, died peacefully on November 22, 2017 at St. John Hospice, Vancouver, after a brief struggle with cancer. Vicki was born May 23, 1927 in Lethbridge, loving daughter to mother Barbara Jossul and sister to her 9 siblings.
Vicki made great use of her 90 years. She grew up in Beverly, playing baseball as a young girl, singing in the church choir with her sister and dancing whenever she could. After high school she worked as a stenographer in Edmonton where she met and married the love of her life, Denny Prince, on August 1st, 1952, raising 3 children - Christopher (Giselle), David (Linnea) and Barbara (Paul). Vicki was a loving and doting Grandmother to Rhiannon (Kris), Quinn (Andrea), Christopher, Sarah, Simone, Adrienne (Bram), Marcus and great grandson Luciano.
Vicki was an accomplished artist, a wonderful cook, a creative seamstress and an amazing gardener. She was a generous hostess, sharing her perogies, cabbage rolls, pies and friendship with family and friends. She was an avid swimmer, cross country skier, golfer, lover of good books and crossword puzzle master.
Vicki volunteered with Denny in every town and city they lived in across western Canada. She helped organize many community events, was a Grey Owl in Brownies in Saskatoon and editor of the Sherwood Park United Church. Vicki had an unforgettable smile, the quickest wit, and when she wasn't trying to feed you she was undoubtedly paying you a compliment. Those who had the good fortune of knowing her, know there will never be another like Victoria Prince.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for her during her illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to St. John Hospice 6389 Stadium Road, Vancouver BC.
