Ruth Grasby

Ruth (Erickson) Grasby, born 1928, died on Nov. 10, 2024. Predeceased by father, Rev. Joseph Erickson, her mother Pearl, infant brother Joseph Kenneth, brother Dr. Donald Erickson, her husband Carl Grasby and daughter Marcia Ruth. She leaves to mourn daughter Caroline (Steve) Ternes and son Derrek, grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister Dorothy Sovdi, nieces and nephews.

Following a career in nursing and remembered for her warmth, enthusiasm, wisdom, wit, and encouraging ways, she was a much admired instructor at BCIT for 27 years, and as a public speaker. As a singer, her rich mezzo soprano voice enriched many choral groups including Vancouver Opera. As a soloist and devout Christian, her singing and faith was heartfelt. Favoring sacred/gospel music she will now join the heavenly choir singing praises to the Lord.

A loving wife and mother, her family was especially loved and a top priority. She will be greatly missed.

Her memorial service will be held December 2, 2024 at 1:00 pm, at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, Surrey BC.
