Robert Elliot Burrows

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Elliot Burrows announce his passing. Bob will be missed by his loving wife Paulette and daughter Erin. On December 11,2024 Bob passed away at the age of 79 years after a year long battle with cancer.

Bob was born in Vancouver, B.C. and lived there his entire life. He is predeceased by his Mother (Eva) and Father (Ernest).

Bob had a five decade long career in the Entertainment Industry. At various times he was a Club Owner, Entertainment Booking Agent, Promoter and Band Manager.

With his keen ear for music and his excellent eye for talent he was a driving force in the vibrant club scene in the heyday of live bands in the eighties, nineties and two thousands. He was instrumental in the success of many clubs and bands in the Greater Vancouver Area and across Canada.

Bob never sought the limelight and preferred to stay in the background as he booked venues and directed bands to successful careers in the industry. He was still managing a popular club and theatre band up until 2021.

Bob also enjoyed life with his family and travelled the world with his wife and daughter. He enjoyed a comfortable home life with his family and maintained a large circle of friends, who loved him and remained in close contact until the end of his life. He maintained excellent health throughout his life until his diagnosis near the end of 2023.

We would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Peace Arch Hospital, B.C. Cancer Agency and Melville Hospice who looked after him in his last year.

There will be no funeral, by request, but a Celebration of Life will be held in his honour in Spring 2025.
