Mr. Jingyu Yang was born on November 16, 1932, in Hulan County, Heilongjiang Province, China. His father was Futang Yang, and his mother was Zhangshi Yang. He had an elder sister, two younger brothers, and a younger sister.
He graduated from Harbin No. 1 High School in 1953 and went on to study machine tools in the Mechanical Department of Dalian Institute of Technology, where he excelled academically and graduated in 1957.
From 1957 to 1963, he worked as a technician at Dalian Machine Tool Factory. Following this, a new chapter unfolded as he embarked on a 35-year tenure at Harbin Bearing Factory from 1963 to 1998, ascending the ranks from a technician, engineer, senior engineer, deputy chief engineer, and director of the research institute, a testament to his unwavering dedication and expertise. In 1998, he retired and embarked on a new adventure by immigrating to Canada and settling in Vancouver.
In 1960, Mr. Jingyu Yang met and fell in love with his wife, Shujie Liu. They were married in October of 1960 and for 60 years, their love blossomed, nurturing a beautiful family of one son and three daughters.
Mr. Yang Jingyu was an exemplary father and human being, epitomizing the essence of a gentle soul, radiating qualities of unconditional love, unwavering patience, strength, diligence, and resilience. His legacy echoes through his meticulous and conscientious work ethic, erudition, and generosity that touched the lives of all who knew him. He dedicated all his love to his family and his work, showing great care for his family and friends, always helping them to the best of his ability. He was humorous and never scolded or preached to others. Instead, he would help analyze and understand people and matters in a simple yet profound manner, making him a beacon of wisdom,earning admiration as a mentor and friend.
In May 2024, Mr. Jingyu Yang was hospitalized due to a relapse of pneumonia caused by a viral infection. His health deteriorated rapidly, and he grew weaker by the day. During his hospital stay, his two younger daughters and son-in-law took turns caring for him by his bedside. On June 9, 2024, respecting his wishes, he left the hospital to recuperate at home.
Mr. Jingyu Yang was baptized into the Lord Jesus Christ on August 20, 2023. On the morning of June 15, 2024, Mr. Jingyu Yang’s spirit, etched in the hearts of all who knew him, rests in the arms of the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and wisdom that will be carried on by his son, three daughters, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
