Jean Ferguson, (Theobald/Lavature) was the much-loved matriarch of our family and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 4th, 2019 at the age of 91.
Born in Prince George and raised in Vancouver, she married the love of her life, Al Theobald, just after the end of WW II. They raised their three children on various military bases across the country but she often said that her happiest years were when they were stationed in Germany between 1957 and 1961.
Mom married Barney Ferguson in 1980 and they spent a decade travelling the world and boating on the British Columbia coast.
She loved playing golf and bridge with her friends, was a voracious reader and an active member of the Peninsula United churches in South Surrey.
Jean is survived by her children Gordon Theobald (Cheryl), Ed Theobald (Christine) and Cindy Clair (Bob) and her grandchildren Becky, Ryan, Jarod, Amber and Megan. She particularly loved spending fun times with her great grandchildren Nova, Ella, Levi, Hayden, Olivia, Beckett and Emma.
Mom loved every second of life and was very active right up till she broke her hip in early March.
A service celebrating her life will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre 14831 28th Avenue Surrey, BC on May 13th, 2019 at 1:00pm
Donations in Jean’s name to The Peninsula United Church in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
