It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our grandpa, great-grandpa and Uncle, David (Dave) Cartwright Secord at the age of 93. Dave was born in Dauphin Manitoba on May 25th, 1928 and died in Surrey BC on January 10th, 2022. He worked on the family farm as a boy and came west to BC as a young man looking for work. Dave worked for Macmillan Bloedel until he retired.
Dave was known for his quiet sense of humour and his love of a good game of blackjack. He enjoyed working in the yard and in the garden. Dave is predeceased by his six brothers, his wife Elaine Secord, and his stepson, Gordon Brown. Missing him are his grandchildren Grace (Shawn) Ponto and David (Erin) Brown, his five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
A private family interment will be held at Victory Memorial in Surrey on Wednesday, April 20th at 11 am with a celebration of life to follow immediately after in the tea room. A very special thank you to Donna for your care and errand running for grandpa over the last two and a half years. We know he was very thankful, as are we, for all you did for him.
