Mom was born on the farm near Piapot Saskatchewan during a Spring blizzard,April 3rd 1929. In 1939 the family made the great trek westward to a new farm in the Shady Nook district near Red Deer (Alberta). Predeceased by herbeloved husband Bill, her parents Martin & Bertha (Heard), and brothers Glen and Rex. Cherished and survived by her brother John (Marney), children David (Anita), Colleen, Bruce (Leslie), Ken (Brenda), Linda (Leo), Wayne, and Robert (Shyiang); grandchildren Brandon, Ryan, Jon, Nicole, Carly, Jordan, Kaleigh, Finn, William, and Shane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A caring and compassionate pediatric nurse, with a tireless capacity for hard work, and a boundless and unconditional love, made her the perfect Mom to our big brood of seven. Her deep Faith and Prairie roots made her strong and resilient. We’ll never forget her passion for the Canucks (always a friend and supporter of the underdog), dining at White Spot, always-remembered birthday cards, the easy laughs and warm tight embrace.
