Brian William Beeson was born February 20, 1943 in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan to William Edward Beeson and Irene Eleanor Hermanson. Brian died peacefully on April 21, 2017 at Dr. Al Hogg Pavilion at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC, surrounded by his family.
Brian is predeceased by his parents Bill in 1988 and Irene in 2015, and also his brother-in-law Albert Harrison in 2016. He is survived by his wife, Barb, daughters Joanne (Rob Finlay) and Janet, and grandson Bennett. He is also survived by sisters Myrna Harrison and Wendy (Wayne) Oberle, plus numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brian grew up on the family farm near Shaunavon. After high school, he attended the University of Regina and later taught school in Pennant, SK. In 1967, Brian joined the RCMP and completed his training in Regina, SK and Penhold, AB, after which he was posted to Vancouver, BC where he met his future wife, Barbara Jean Gray. Brian and Barb were married in 1970 in West Vancouver, BC.
Brian retired from the RCMP in 1992. He loved his job and was an accomplished police officer who received 3 commendations for bravery, plus a Silver Jubilee medal from Queen Elizabeth in 1977. Brian and Barb were stationed in numerous locations in BC and one stop in Regina, SK where Brian was an RCMP Academy instructor. Brian then worked for BC Transit Police until retiring again in 2005.
Brian had a love of animals, especially the family dogs. He enjoyed travelling on his motorcycle with friends, salmon fishing, spending time with his family, and travelling to Saskatchewan to help out on the farm. Brian was always consistent with his warmth, generosity, modesty, wisdom, and sharp wit, and especially, his love for his family.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at Victory Memorial 14831 - 28 Avenue, Surrey, BC on Friday, May 5th at 1:00 p.m.
