Running a Concrete Pump Brandon Loved His Work

Here is a great picture of Brandon at Harrison Lake with Adanna and me. We were out boating that day and he spent hours with his buddy Rocco.

Brandon I remember one time when we were at a party and one of my girlfriends was arguing with her boyfriend and he got kind of aggressive with her and we decided to leave but you wouldn't let us walk home alone there is no way that was happening so you got your car and drove us all the way home make sure we got inside safe that was one of the most thoughtful thingS that ive ever seen done and I'll always be thankful for it and I will never forget you.

What An Incredible Guy

Events like the death of a loved one or child often cause us to ask the big questions in life. Yet for me there are no philosophical words that describe the loss of someone you love, no magical solution to comfort away the pain that all of us feel with Brandon's loss.  

My nephew was an incredible guy not only was he big hearted and would help anyone including me, he would go out of his way to help others.  When he was younger, we spent a lot of time playing around the boat, working on it and whenever we were in the boat Brandon would ask nonstop to drive it.  He was such a good driver that I always felt very comfortable when he was running the boat even though he couldn't even see over the bow.  

He always had this intense look on his face both when he was working and when he was having fun. Many of the pictures I shot of him on the boat show this intensity.   Everything he did on that boat he did perfectly, when it came to docking or putting on the trailer, the maintenance or cleaning Brandon was the guy.  He was the first guy racing down the dock to get it loaded and for sure he was the last guy walking away at the end of the day.

Any of us that it had the opportunity of working with Brandon realize that he was an incredibly hard worker.  He was dedicated and many of his best friends are the guys and he worked with everyday.  He ran a high pressure shotcrete pump working on many of the largest projects in Vancouver and he was a third generation of pump operator.

"I have been told that in one sense there is no death. The life of a soul on earth lasts beyond departure. Yet that is no comfort for me, we will always feel Brandon's life touching ours, that laughing voice speaking to us. Brandon lives on in all the lives of us that knew and loved him. 

The ancient Egyptians had a beautiful belief about death.  When their souls got to the entrance of heaven, the guards asked two questions.  Their answers determined whether they were able to enter or not.  

The two questions were...... ‘Have you found joy in the times of your life? And has your life brought joy to others you knew and loved?

I don't doubt that my nephew is now in heaven.

Brandon, forever we will honor your memory the same way you loved and respected us here in our short time together, 

“And then it shall come to pass, that the spirits of those who we loved are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.”

Grief is the price we all pay for love......

I had the pleasure of meeting Brandon out on the paintball field. I could not name a better ambassador for the sport. He had a rare talent of always having a smile on his face. Rest in peace.

Our deepest condolences to Brandon's family for their unimaginable loss.
My son Cohen met Brandon while taking the mechanics co-op at Earl Marriot in 2011, and they quickly became friends. We enjoyed having Brandon at our home and our cabin and they had some fun camping trips. Cohen liked to call Brandon's truck "Grampa Brown".
Unfortunately Cohen is working in Alberta and won't be able to attend the service, but he is aware of Brandon's sudden passing and deeply saddened. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved him.
