Siegward Benedict Horn passed away on Feb.18, 2014 at the age of 83 after a 4 year battle with leukemia. Ben is survived by his sons Odin and Marcel (Laurel), grandsons Gavin, Kaeden, and Logan; sisters Alide and Brigitta and brothers Raimund, Ulli and Gisbert and their families. Ben was born in Cologne, Germany on Aug.25, 1930 and was the 4th of 10 children. He came to Canada when he was 24 years old. Ben was a dedicated high school teacher for over 30 years, the majority of which were at Queen Elizabeth Secondary in Surrey. Ben loved languages, music and traveling. He particularly enjoyed his many trips to Mexico. Ben spent the last 11 years living in Kelowna, BC, before which he was a longterm resident of Surrey, BC. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 11:00 am at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Ave., in South Surrey.
