Barbara was born in Leytonstone, London, England to parents Ernest and Selina Cole. She met her future husband David when he joined the staff at a local theatre. Barbara enjoyed movies, had a terrific knowledge of the screen stars and movie titles. She even visited various theatres on her leisure days, distance no problem! Barb enjoyed music, could play the piano, and became accomplished in many subjects. She liked animals, especially cats. On different occasions she and her husband David rescued "Tibby", who followed them home; and "Trixy", who was adopted from the S.P.C.A. Both cats enjoyed her attention - especially being brushed and massaged! Barbara came to Edmonton in 1948 and corresponded with David until his arrival June 1953. They were married in St. Paul's Anglican Church in Edmonton on November 9, 1953. David and Barbara were happily married for 62 years, and lived in Surrey, B.C. Barbara passed away December 4, 2015. She is survived by her loving husband David, and nieces and nephews in Canada, England and Australia .
