Lori Cucjen was born 2/6/1936 in Gary, IN, where she grew up along with one sister, Pat Sult. She lived a family rich life as a wife of 63 years to Romy Cucjen, as a mother of four children: Tina Rowden, Romy Cucjen jr, Pat Majam, & Rick Cucjen, as a grandmother of 18, and as a great-grandmother of 15.
Lori was survived by her husband Romy, their son & his wife (Romy & Christine Cucjen), their daughter & her husband (Pat & Ros Majam), and their son & his wife (Rick & Sheri Cucjen). Their eldest daughter, Tina Rowden, passed away 1/3/2018.
Lori & Romy loved to travel for many years of their marriage. They traveled and lived all around the world, from the Philippines, Japan, Europe, Mexico, to motor home trips across the USA visiting 40+ states. They raised their family in San Diego, CA and retired in Surprise, AZ for the past 20 years.
Lori loved to read mystery, spy & history novels. Her favorite authors were Tom Clancy & Robert Grisham. She also was an avid crocheter, along with watching baseball, softball, & basketball on TV. She loved the Phoenix Suns and especially Steve Nash in his prime. She had the privilege of going to a live Suns game and got to meet Steve Nash.
Lori served selfishly in her church, Saint Claire of Assisi Catholic Church, in the prayer shawl ministry, along with serving in the St. Vincent De Paul Society food bank and home visit ministries.
Lori worked as a Recovery room nurse for 20 years at Bay General Hospital in Chula Vista, Ca. She also worked as a surgical center & home visiting nurse for 20 years.
