With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Heep, who departed this world on June 1st, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend to many. David's journey in this life may have ended, but his legacy will endure in the hearts and minds of all who knew him.
David was born July 28th, 1959 in Florence, AZ. He had an unquenchable thirst for adventure and a deep-seated passion for the great outdoors. This passion would shape his life's journey, leading to countless thrilling hunts, exhilarating fishing expeditions, and memorable sporting achievements most often accompanied by his son Dan.
Dave was known for his wit, kindness, generosity, animated storytelling, and unwavering loyalty. He had a gift for making everyone feel valued and cherished, and his presence brought laughter, warmth, and joy to any gathering. His sense of humor and laugh was infectious, and he had a talent for finding laughter even in the darkest of times.
David was a devoted husband and father, finding immense joy in his role as a family man, with a love that knew no bounds. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and integrity that will continue to guide and uplift those he held dear.
In addition to his love for the outdoors and sports, David was renowned for his hilarious storytelling ability, capable of leaving listeners in hysterics with stories that brought joy and laughter to any gathering. Whether recounting misadventures from hunting trips or fishing escapades gone awry, he had a knack for injecting humor into every anecdote, often laughing throughout the story himself. David also generously gave back to the community as a coach, guiding young athletes and instilling in them values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and hard work. He was known to many as “Coach Dave”.
David spent his final days in the state of Arizona where he was doing what he loved most, spending time with his wife, some of his closest friends, and golfing in a tournament.
Though David may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear. May he rest in peace, knowing he touched the lives of so many and left the world a brighter place.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Mercedes; his loving children, Nikkole, Amanda, and Daniel; his cherished grandson, Dillon; his sister, Darlene; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Forever in our hearts, David will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
