Char was born in Bay Shore, New York on February 1, 1953 to Audrey and Charles Gregory. The family relocated to Connecticut in 1955. She graduated from Danbury High School in 1970 and received her BA in Sociology from the University of Connecticut in 1974. She relocated to Phoenix, AZ in 1981 and began her 35 years of service to the State of Arizona – Department of Economic Security in 1982.
Char lived a life of service in both her work and personal life, making sure that everyone was taken care of; family and strangers alike. She was thoughtful and empathetic; often performing random acts of kindness. She loved all Arizona sports teams but had a special affinity for the Diamondbacks, never missing an opening day until she was no longer well. She spent countless weekends in her second home in Rocky Point, Mexico and was also the most avid supporter of her daughter and grandsons as they performed in the arts, sports, and academia.
Char is survived by her daughter Cynthia Burr (Rod) and grandsons Jayden, Braxton and Jaxsen, and step-children Jewel Litton, Jason Wetz and their families, parents Audrey Feiber and Charles Gregory, siblings Chuck Gregory, Edward Gregory, Laura-Jean Gregory, Tracy Gregory, Tara Gregory Rothenhoefer, Debra Venable, Stacy Black, Pamela Stein, Jennifer Plett, Susan Hofmeister and many adored nieces and nephews.
