She was born in Washington, DC in 1952. Her parents Pat and Irving Higgs were immersive of family. Irving known to all as “PopPop” was the life of the party and was the reason that Barbara’s favorite holiday was Christmas.
Barbara met the love of her life, in 1971 while working at IHOP. Believe it or not Barbara told Jack no on numerous occasions before finally accepting a date with him. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married June 16th 1972.
Barbara and Jack couldn’t wait to start a family of their own, and their children meant the world to them. They had a boy and a girl, Jason and Julie Greenhill.
Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, and loving mom who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was at almost every game they ever played to support and cheer them on and being the best team mom on almost every team.
Though she loved cooking, baking and all things Bears, Barbara’s favorite role was that as a grandparent. Barbara leaves behind her three handsome grandsons Corey, Camden, and Callen. She treasured her time with their grandkids and loved being their Nana, never failing to bring a smile to their faces with singing animals and fun hats.
Barbara will always be remembered for her kind and loving heart and the way that she always looked after the ones she loved. We couldn’t have asked for a better wife and mother, and will miss Barbara every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Barbara Greenhill was preceded in death by Pat Higgs, Irving Higgs, and Barry Higgs. She is survived by husband, Jack Greenhill; son, Jason Greenhill; daughter, Julie Greenhill; sister, Sandra Levielle; brothers, Charlie and Kelly Higgs; and grandchildren, Corey Greenhill, Camden Miller, and Callen Coffee.
