William R. Moore, loving Father and Grandfather, passed away on July 12, 2015 at the age of 88. Bill was born November 30, 1926 in Wellington, KY to Volney and Esther Risner Moore. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Marjorie Moore; daughters, Debra Egelston, (husband Doug), and Connie Comfort, (husband Mark); grandchildren Chrystal Seaman, (husband Matt), Scott Comfort (wife Rylan), Sarah Peterson (husband Dan), Brandon Miller (wife Melissa), Lesley Trammel (husband Waylon), Jenna Whitehill (husband Kurt), Mary-Kate Egelston; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Marlene Buehler (husband Terry). Bill was preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings; Rex, Eloise, Volney Jr., and Eugene. During WWII he served as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper where his first tour of duty was served in Europe. His second tour of duty was in the Korean Conflict. After serving his country, he attended Moorehead State University in Kentucky where he received his B.A. in Business Education in 1955. Bill continued his education and received his M.A. in Business Education at the University of New Mexico in 1970. Over a 20 year period, Bill taught high school business education. He started teaching in Williamsburg, OH. In 1966, Bill moved his family to Los Lunas, NM where he taught school for 6 years. He was a Charter Member and Treasurer at Valencia Church of the Nazarene. In 1972, he and Marjorie returned to Ohio where he continued his teaching career and embarked on a business venture. In 1980, Bill and Marjorie followed their children to Arizona where they resided in Sun City and attended the Peoria Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 9-10am at Sunland Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ with funeral service following at 10am.
