Sunday, April 16, 2023, Patricia (Milton) Lawrence passed away peacefully in her sleep. Her last week, she was surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was preceded in death, by her husband of 55 years, Richard D. Lawrence, parents Grace C Stephens and George T Milton, siblings Daniel, Percival, Grace, June, Iris, Gordon, George, and in 2016 her beloved grandson Andrew Lawrence. She is survived by her 3 children Sharon (Richard) Junior, Susan Lawrence, and Michael (Karen Krukar) Lawrence. 12 grandchildren Steven, Kevin, Trisha, Jenna, Shannon, Ryan, Kerry, Gary Scott, Lindsay, Jason, and Sean. 19 great grandchildren Kayla, Briana, Michael, Jacob, Tyler, Patrick, Joshua, Sean, Levi, Echo, Maia, Basil, Rowan, Hudson, Caliana, Lana, Kingston, Sayla and Kannon. Mom was generous with her most precious asset, time. She spent much of it helping her children to become productive and honorable adults. She was available with helpful advice and problem solving. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. At 94 years, she had amassed much wisdom and was not shy to share, but never overstepped. Mom had many talents and gifts. She inherited her father’s negotiation skills and her mother’s moxie. Watching Mom buy or sell was like watching an artist in action. After raising her children, she decided to pursue an office secretary position. As she listened to the duties, typing being one, she explained to her potential employer that she was a perfect fit. She would excel with everything, except he would have to do the typing. After he regained his voice, she was hired. It wasn’t long before she was the office manager. Mom was a gifted storyteller and held her audience captivated with all her adventures. Stories of her childhood and family were always ended too soon. She loved her trips to Las Vegas with sisters Iris and June. On return, she kept everyone in stitches with stories of jackpots, almost wins, comped meals, and rooms. For many years, she sent beautiful handmade cards to her children and church family. Mom was an amazing example, she was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, Nana, and friend. She was the first to celebrate life’s gifts. She was bold and fearless and lived life to the fullest. The greatest gift she gave us was the importance of family. April 24th, we celebrate the life of Patricia Milton Lawrence.
