Marion Sallustio, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Marion was born in Brooklyn, New York, the loving daughter of George Henderson and Mae Corrigan. She had a half-sister, Vivian Sergio, and was raised by her grandmother, Julia Sullivan, and by her aunts and uncles Catherine Tullo, Peter Enz, and Muriel Collaci. She married her beloved husband Nicholas on June 6, 1947, after he returned from the Navy in World War II, where he served as a Sonarman 2nd Class on the USS Tomich (DE 242). They purchased their first home together in St. Albans, Queens, and on May 25, 1948, they welcomed their firstborn son Frank, and then on March 26, 1951 their second son Robert. In 1957 the family moved to Deer Park, on Long Island, where Marion went to work as a secretary at South Oaks Hospital. After retiring, Marion and Nicholas moved to Arizona in 1993 to be close to Frank and his wife Phyllis, and their two grandchildren Michael and John. They bought a home in Sun City West, where Nicholas passed away in 1995. Her oldest son Frank passed away in 2021 after a 20 year career in the US Air Force, where he retired as a full Colonel, and then went into private practice as a board certified prosthodontist. Marion enjoyed crafts, shopping, reading, traveling, being well-versed in current events, and spending time with family and friends, especially during the holidays. She had a sweet tooth and enjoyed ice cream and anything that had the name Entenmann's on it. She loved the Lord and His Mother Mary and her Catholic faith. Marion is survived by her son Robert and daughter-in-law Kimberly, and grandchildren Kyle, Elijah, Savanah and her husband Julian, who welcomed Marion's first great grandchild Lillian in 2023, as well as her daughter-in-law Phyllis and nephews Michael and John, and their wives Stephanie and Clarice. Marion will be interred at Sunland Memorial Park next to her husband Nicholas.
