Lyle Smith Andersen, of Phoenix, Arizona, peacefully passed away on December 7, 2022, with his wife and two of his children at his side. He was born September 17, 1938, in Rexburg, Idaho, and was the first of five children to Ray Andersen and Esther Smith.
Lyle met the love of his life at a church dance. He and Bobbi were married in the Salt Lake City Temple and began their life together in Salt Lake City. They later moved to Phoenix, where they raised their 6 children together.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Bobbi; his six children, Dennis (Cathy) Andersen, Wendi (Richard) Hansen, Kevin Andersen, Rick (Rhonda) Andersen, Glenn (Carrie) Andersen, Cory (Malou) Andersen; his 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren (1 on the way). He is also survived by his younger siblings Patti, Lauri, Blair, and Shelly.
Lyle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in the Army Reserve for two years. He enjoyed serving as Scout Master several times and many years. Lyle inspired young boys to become great men, and his former scouts continue to speak of him. He was fun, ambitious, honest, and an influential mentor.
Lyle was a master bricklayer and mason. He was a strong man, a hard worker, dedicated to his craft, and had vice grips for hands. Beautifully constructed schools, malls, fireplaces, and many other structures will stand for generations.
Lyle loved his family, his work, day trips, movies, old westerns, watches, guns, quick draw, and swords.
