He is survived by his wife, Helene; daughter Lori, her husband, Chris, and their son, Noah; daughter, Erika, her husband Kevin, and their daughter Alexis and son, Brody; brothers Robert, Howard and Steve Sachs. He is preceded in his death by his parents, Sigmund and Sylvia Sachs, and his grandson, Zachary Lashley.
Joe was born on November 27, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from the University of Maryland, with a degree in Business Administration. He served in the Army National Guard from 1969 to 1974. In 1979, he fulfilled one of his dreams by moving to California. He worked for 30 years for the US Small Business Administration, before retiring and moving to Peoria, Arizona.
Joe was a die-hard sports fan, especially if it involved any Baltimore teams or his Alma Matter. He was known for his larger than life personality and sense of humor. His hobbies included guitar jams, Poker and almost all pop culture. He also loved trains, travel and the Golden Gate bridge.
He will be remembered for his ability to relate to people and his appreciation of a good story.
A memorial is scheduled for Joe on Friday, November 27, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City, Arizona.
