Irene was born on her parent’s farm in Sanborn, NY and attended a one room school house. She married Michael J. Dyrda at 18 and had three daughters; Patty, Donna and Sandy. At age 33, Irene became a hairdresser and ran her own business for twenty years.
In 1979 they retired to Sun City West and were members of the “Pioneer Club” since they were among the first to live in the community. Irene thrived in SCW. She was a member of the Basket and Art Clubs for many years and spent many enjoyable hours at the recreation centers. In 1998 they purchased and developed ten acres of land in Wittman so they could connect to their country roots until Mike’s passing in 2007. Irene continued to live in her Sun City West home until 2017 where she loved to tend to her many flowers and plants in her yard. She was always looking for new recipes to try including heart healthy meals. Irene was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sun City West.
Irene leaves behind two daughters, Donna Dyrda Anthony Harris and Sandra Dyrda Pietrzykowsky. Six grandchildren; Erin Kelly Kent, Shaw Pietrzykowsky, Ron Anthony, Steve Pietrzykowsky, Kris Kelly Kruger and Jill Pietrzykowsky Dugan. Eight great grandchildren; Griffin Kent, Logan Kent, Kendall Dugan, Kaysey Pietrzykowsky, Kaitlyn Pietrzykowsky, Mason Kruger, Arden Kruger and Kameron Pietrzykowsky.
An open casket viewing will be held at 9:00am, followed by mass at 10:00am on July 17, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 19002 N. 128th Ave., Sun City West, AZ 85375. Flowers will be taken by the church at 8:00am on that day. Burial is planned for 11:30am at Sunland Memorial Park & Mortuary, 15826 N. Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ 85351
