Born February 13, 1928, in Watertown, son of John Raymond and Mildred (Golden) McCarthy. He attended Watertown schools and was a self-employed car dealer and contractor in the Watertown area. He remodeled and built many homes in the area. He retired to Florida in the 80’s.
He was married to Lelia “Dolly” Busto McCarthy for almost fifty years prior to her death in 1997. The couple had five sons.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law (Manuel and Carrie McCarthy, Peru NY, John McCarthy, Sun City AZ, Mark and Rita McCarthy, Sun City AZ), one sister (Muriel Burnham, Tennessee), and several nieces and nephews. He has 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Glenn is predeceased by two sons (Glenn McCarthy Jr and Ralph McCarthy), four sisters (Stephanie, Iris, Jean and Keitha), one brother (Ralph McCarthy), and granddaughter (Terra McCarthy-Sterling).
He enjoyed music, riding his bicycle, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
