Born on April 27, 1927, in Syracuse, New York, Frederick was the son of Carl Elmer Shetler and Carrie Ernestine Snyder. He grew up in Syracuse, where he developed a lifelong love of learning and service. Frederick proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Following his military service, Frederick earned a degree in Accounting from Syracuse University. His sharp mind and attention to detail were matched only by his kindness and generosity toward others.
Frederick and Doris relocated to the Phoenix area and lived there happily for many years.
Frederick was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doris, his dear daughter, Judy, and two sisters, Ernestine Pensabene and Janice Siracusa. He is survived by his loving sisters, June Britton and Carol Cupelo, as well as many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his wisdom, warmth, and gentle humor.
Everyone who knew Frederick thought he was a wonderful man. His legacy of quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering support for family and friends will be treasured always.
He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
