Dorothy (Dot) H. Wruck of Peoria AZ left this world on January 17th and has “gone to be with the Lord, family and friends”. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother & friend to many. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Clifford F. Wruck, her sisters Darlene and Ruth, and her brother Vernon. She was born in Packwaukee Wisconsin to the late Elise Frank on August 17, 1920, the oldest of five children. While growing up and living in the country and in Wisconsin Villages she assisted her Mother as the eldest sibling with the many duties of rising a family during difficult times. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1938 and was Class President. She then attended college pursing her dream of becoming a teacher, a goal that was never obtained due to putting the needs of others above her own. One of her first professional jobs was working in Beverly Hills, California for the family of Frank Willard the creator of Moon Mullins. Dorothy met Clifford while working on the Lawsonia Estate in Green Lake, WI. She married her loving husband and soul mate on June 28, 1941 in Americus, GA and they greatly enjoyed life together for over 71 years. Clifford was a career military man and therefore they lived to many different locations and were also able to travel abroad. She held numerous jobs over the years working in positions that ranged from being a Clerk to the General Manager for the Base Exchange in the Azores. While almost always holding another job she loved rising their four children. Friends and family were Dorothy’s passion and delight, she excelled at welcoming friends and family to her home at any time.
She was an active volunteer in a variety of organizations for many years. She was an avid lifelong supporter for under privileged children and always supported numerous organizations that assist with those with needs. She was an active member and served on various committees of the United Church of Bensenville IL, Adams WI and later of Sun City, AZ.
She greatly enjoyed her social time with family and friends. She always had a welcoming word and a smile on her face, even during difficult times. As one of the pillars of the family, her love, advice and support will be greatly missed by the many family and friends that were graced with her presence for over 95 years.
She is survived by her sister Katheryn (Brian) Zamzow of Tomahawk WI, four children, Dianne (Robert A.)
