Catherine Slater

Catherine (Rosch) Slater was born November 25, 1929 in Wyandotte, MI to Nick and Barbara Rosch. They moved to Phoenix in 1939 for her father’s health. She graduated from North High School in 1948. Cathy met Thomas Slater while working at the phone company, Mt Bell at the time, and they married December 2, 1950. Cathy started working for Mt Bell again after the boys were older and continued until she retired in 1984 as an account processor for the yellow pages (now called U.S. West). Tom and Cathy retired up in Ashfork, Arizona until Tom passed away in 2000. Then she had some health issues that brought her to Phoenix in 2002, which she overcame. She loved to do crossword puzzles and crocheting. She also loved to go to the casinos when possible. We lost Mom on April 22, 2022 at the age of 92. She was preceded by her husband of 50 years, Thomas and their son Michael. She leaves behind with great memories, son Steve (Lee) and Pete, daughter in law Deborah Slater, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Instead of flowers, Cathy requests you donate to Hospice of the Valley and St. Jude.

A chapel service for Catherine will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary & Cremation Center, 15826 North Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351.
