Jim was a United States Marine Corp veteran and a retired paramedic with the City of Miami Fire/Rescue. He was a member of the first group of Paramedics in the nation.
An avid pilot, he survived a commercial airplane crash in the mountains of Washington state and was credited with helping save the life of one of the copilots. He continued to fly privately and lived his later years in Ocklawaha, Fl at Woods and Lakes Airpark.
Jim enjoyed scuba diving and boating. Several of his off-duty jobs and ventures were related to the dive and marine aquarium industry.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, his sons John and James Jr., his step daughters Susan and Cory along with 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren.
A quick wit, part time comedian and truly a man who would always help others, he will be missed by all who met him.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on November 23rd, 2019 at the Grace Episcopal Church in downtown Ocala, Fl.
