She was a native of Welsh and had been a resident of the Sulphur area for nearly 50 years. She was a very active member of Christian World Ministries where she was involved in the nursery, Children's World, and the Compassion House Ministry. Shirley worked for many years in the purchasing and accounting department for Westlake Polymers and also worked as bookkeeper and event assistant at Treasures of Marilyn's. She enjoyed gardening, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and especially enjoyed being with her family, whether it be cheering on one of her children or grandchildren at a sporting event, dance recital, cheer competition, or tennis match.
Survivors include her daughters, Ronda Fontenot of Carlyss, Rachel Lindgren of Sulphur, and Robin Camp and husband, Tony of Westlake; her grandchildren, Adam Fontenot (Jodie), Anthony Camp (Allison), Megan Foster (Justin), Joshua Camp, Brooke Lindgren, Brandon Camp, Kamber Lindgren, Ashley Jackson (Garvin), Payton Lindgren, and Faith Camp; and eleven great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Aiken, Jackson, Ivy, Avery, Elijah, Zane, Alanis, Kylan, Oaklynn, and Avaya. She is preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, George Wright; her parents, Frank and Betty Notestine; her son-in-law, David Lindgren; and a great-grandson, Samuel Foster.
A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 17, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Pastors Jerry and Hope Snider will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Pallbearers will be Tony Camp, Adam Fontenot, Anthony Camp, Josh Camp, Brandon Camp, Justin Foster, and Peyton "PK" Kosinski.
