She was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. Cookie enjoyed reading her cookbooks, watching cooking shows, game shows, and westerns, and especially enjoyed cooking meals for her family from all of the various new recipes that she would discover.
Survivors include her children, Cecil Lee Dupre, Jr., Tracy Dupre Collins and husband, Steven, and Crystal Dupre Loftin and husband, William, all of Sulphur; her sisters, Linda "Pee Wee" Chesson and Helen Jean Vallery, both of Sulphur; her grandchildren, Alexys Lilly, Ashtyn Lilly, Madison Jinks, Jacque Dupre, and Shayna Brady and husband, Joshua; her step-grandchildren, Dylan Humberson, Trey Collins, Tyler Savant, Garth Loftin, and Devon Hurst; and great-grandchildren, Abrien Dupre, Ayslee McKenzie, and Kolynns Jinks. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Dupre; her parents, Curtis Bertrand, and Dorothy and Jr. Vincent; and a granddaughter, Shala Nassar.
A Celebration of Cookie's Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 21, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home led by Hixson Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly. Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home.
