Robert Lee Hebert, 82, of Sulphur, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on November 8, 1941, to Isaac and Emily Hebert and was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. He attended Frasch & Sulphur High Schools.
In 2002 after working in the Circulation Department for over 20 years, Robert retired from the Lake Charles American Press. He was a member of the Maplewood-Hollywood Lions Club where he held may offices including President in 1972. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, but his happiness could never be denied when he was listening to music of the 50's. Most importantly, he loved to chauffeur and travel anywhere with his best friend and wife, "Char".
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Charlyne Dixon Hebert of Sulphur; daughter, Stacy Hebert Peloquin (Dean) of Sulphur; granddaughter, Kennedy Rae' Hebert (August Breaux) of Sulphur; sisters, Gladys Roya of Sulphur, Judy Bishop of Houma, and Carolyn "Sue" Hebert of Sulphur; along with his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Emily Hebert; in-laws, John and Gloria Dixon; son, Glenn Ray Hebert; brother Ray Hebert; brothers-in-law, Bobby Roya and Frank Bishop.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life to be led by Jon’ Jones at 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 1401 Argin St., Sulphur, LA 70663.
