She was a native of Shreveport and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1989 coming from Lake Charles. Rita was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching TV and playing Diamond Art. She absolutely loved listening to Elvis Presley and had the honor of meeting him at age nine in Shreveport.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Cecil Wayne Fritz of Sulphur; her daughter, Susan Renee Fritz Landry (Christopher White) of Sulphur; her grandchildren, Chloe Renee Landry and Christian James Fritz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Beulah Brimer; and a half-brother, Virgil Dale Brimer.
Her funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 24, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
Deacon Patrick Lapoint will officiate. Burial will be in McInnis Cemetery in Anacoco. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Christopher White, Christopher Landry, Marcus Landry, Camron Johnson, Jr. Richard, and Shannon Fritz. Honorary pallbearers will be Chloe Landry, Clair White, and Christian Fritz.
