Richard lived in the Sulphur area since 1969, coming from South Texas. He was born March 26, 1945. He was retired from PPG Industries, was a member of Masonic Loddge #364 of Vinton, and was a member of the Lake Charles Woodworkers Club.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Lou Ann Haught; sons, Edmond "Eddie" Haught and wife Elizabeth, and Derrick Haught and wife Angie; brother, Herbie Haught of Destin, Florida; stepsons Roland Champagne, Jr. and wife Nancy, Richard Champagne and wife Carol, Robert Champagne and wife Corine, Ryan Champagne and wife Melinda and Randall Champagne; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother Opal Grimes; father Albert Haught, daughter Stephanie Haught, brother Leroy Haught and sister Ann Rainwater.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday, all in the funeral home.
