He was a native of Seminole, Oklahoma and had been longtime resident of Sulphur. He was a graduate of Sulphur High School and had attended McNeese State and LSU. Raymond was a U.S. Army veteran, having graduated out of a Meteorological Observation Course at the Signal School in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. He had worked for the Butyl Rubber division of Citgo Petroleum for 25 years, Calcasieu Parish Mosquito Control, Standard Supply & Hardware, and was the co-owner of Creole Antiques and M&R Upholstery. Raymond had been a Boy Scout leader and was a member of Henning Memorial United Methodist Church. He enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels cars and watching his granddaughters grow up.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Ann Wooster Duhon; son, David Scott Wooster; brother, Marvin L. Wooster of Denham Springs; granddaughters, Amy and Jamie Wooster; niece Melissa Wooster; nephews, Keith and Kyle Wooster; great-nephew, Brayden Savignol of Baton Rouge; cousins, Sharon Pierce-Isaac, Robert Pierce, and Bubba Pierce. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Allen-Wooster; and his parents, Gordon B. and Dolores Wooster.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Cain will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 4-7:30 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
