Ray lived in Sulphur for the last 12 years, moving from Florida. He attended Houston River Baptist Church. Ray enjoyed fishing and exercising. He was the best husband, father, and grandfather you could imagine. He was a jolly man who enjoyed making people happy. Ray was retired from the US Air Force and from the Florida Department of Corrections.
Survivors include his loving wife of over 50 years, Mary Belisle; daughters, Lisa Marcantel and husband Clyde of DeQuincy, and Cindy Alexander and husband Bryan of Sulphur; sisters, Mary Lee Tidwell, and Jean Brown; grandchildren, Brandon Marcantel and wife Melissa, Travis Woodard and wife Paige, T.J. Woodard and wife Natalie, Cliff Alexander and wife Misty, Dan Alexander and Jonah Alexander; and great grandchildren, Bryce Marcantel, Savannah Marcantel, Carson Woodard, Amelia Woodard, Ash Deletore, Macy Gibbs, Cason Gibbs, and Cooper Gibbs.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph M. Belisle, Jr., Kenneth Belisle, and Roy Belisle; and sister, Mae Givens.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial. The Rev. Lonnie Gothrup and the Rev. Roland Hebert will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park in Lake Charles. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday and from 8-10 a.m. Tuesday, all in the funeral home.
