Norma Joyce Simon, 80, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. She was born to her late parents, Ernest "Belgium" and Lovenia Hoffpauir on October 21, 1941 in Crowley, LA. She was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur and was a member of the Catholic Daughters. Norma enjoyed gardening, and going to her grandchildren's games and watching them play. She was a prayer warrior and loved serving others any way she could. Norma recently became involved with the Sulphur Senior Center and the Hixson LIFT program, and she enjoyed both immensely. Most of all, she loved her family very much.
She is survived by her three children, Howard "Tiger" Simon Jr., Gregory Simon, Raedona "Rae Rae" Simon, all of Sulphur, Louisiana; siblings, Betty Doucet, Herman Hoffpauir (Juanita), both of Iota, Louisiana; granddaughter, Lauren Weldon of Sulphur, Louisiana; two great grandchildren, Levi Simon and Harper Cormier, all of Sulphur, Louisiana; numerous nieces and nephews; along with her fur baby, Oreo.
Norma is preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard Simon, Sr.; parents; grandson, Cole Simon; along with her sister, Velma LeBlanc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur, Louisiana on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 10:00 am, with Father Timothy Goodly officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00pm, followed by the Rosary at 6:30pm, led by the Catholic Daughters. Visitation will resume on Thursday, from 8:00 am until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
