Marie "Blondie" Elouise Fontenot

Marie "Blondie" Fontenot, 93, of Sulphur, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024. Marie was born in Mamou, LA on December 27, 1930 to Lewis and Constance Fontenot. She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, booray and going to the casino, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Havely Fontenot; and sisters, Irene Dupre Pearle Johnson and Gloria Tubre.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, James H. Fontenot of Sulphur and David Scott Fontenot of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Guy Kamholz and Ginger Fontenot; great-grandchildren, Kinleigh Wing, Bayleigh Wing and Noah James Bimle; great-great granddaughter Hailey Rae Disarro; brother, Erin Devillier; sisters, Rowe Bordelon, Wanda Prudhome, and Betty Soileau; as well as numerous extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10 am. Hixson Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home, and will resume on Monday at 8:30 am until time of service. A rosary will be held at 6 pm on Sunday. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss, LA.
