Larry, a Jennings native, has resided in Sulphur for 37 years. He was a mechanical Shift foreman for Citgo Refinery and retired after 35 years of service. Larry enjoyed camping, dancing and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Julie Doucet; two sons, Shawn Doucet and wife Karen of Carlyss, and Marty Doucet and wife Tracy of Sulphur; two grandchildren, Kirkland Doucet, and Rachel Elkins and husband David, all of Sulphur; two great grandchildren, Ryleigh and Skylar Elkins; siblings, Wayne Doucet and wife Carol of Welsh, Wilma Andrepont of Eunice, Shirley Hill and husband Buddy of Mississippi, Wanda Simon of Evangeline, Anita Decker and husband Gerald of Evangeline, Annette Touchet and husband Bobby of Jennings, Carolyn Clay and husband Melvin of Evangeline, and Joyce Louviere and husband Russell of Evangeline.
He is preceded in death by his son, Randy Deshotel; grandson, Cory Deshotel; parents, Wilmer and Lillie Doucet, and twin sister Linda Lacombe.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 15th in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home with a gathering of family and friends from 9 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Paul Pettefer will officiate. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
