He was born in Ged, LA., July 27, 1930, and had lived in Sulphur and Carlyss, LA most of his adult life. Jerry served his country as a veteran in the U.S. Army. He was an outside machinist/supervisor for Citgo Refinery for 13 years and worked for 10 years for Transco Exploration Company. Jerry was a wonderful Father, Husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and was called friend by many.
Jerry was a member at Prompt Succor and St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church where he was a member of the Cursillio, Knights of Columbus, Prompt Succor Parish Counsel, Lector, Eucharistic Minister; he also was a member of Local 1317, Calcasieu Canvas Back Campers. He enjoyed life with his wife, Dorothy, of 63 years, his kids, grand kids, and great grand kids, along with fishing, riding his horse, camping, and many, many, many, evenings of cooking meals with family and friends.
He is survived by his children: Debra LeBlanc Dickson (Dan), Paul LeBlanc (Angela), Jerome LeBlanc (Kathryn), Joe Leblanc (Diana), Luke LeBlanc (Jeani), Melanie LeBlanc Morris ( Mike), Tony LeBlanc (Aimee); his sibling, Erlene LeBlanc Shannon(Otha); 27 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren with two on the way. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Moreau LeBlanc; parents, Mr. & Mrs. John Labbe & Mary Quida LeBlanc; and sibling, Paul Ronald LeBlanc.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Saturday, May 23rd, in St. Theresa Roman Catholic church. The Rev. Joe Aquino, MS will officiate. Interment will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery of Carlyss. Visitation will be held 4 – 9pm, Friday, with a Cursillio rosary at 6 pm and resume at 8 – 9:30 am Saturday in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
