James Edward Perry, 86, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 9:50 am at Legacy at Falcon Point in Katy, Texas. He was born to his late parents, Jesse Doyle and Doris Faulk Perry on March 4, 1936 in Crowley, Louisiana, but was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. He was a graduate of Sulphur High School. James served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Navy. James was a carpenter and a electrician by trade. He loved doing anything to keep his hands busy, and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was an ordained Deacon in the Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and Bible Studies for many years. This was truly a calling for James.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his three sons, Glenn Lewis Perry, Lynn Ray Perry, and Craig Allen Perry who he now joins in Heaven.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, the love of his life, Gloria Ann Clark Perry for 69 years; two children, Diane Guidry of Katy, Texas and Timothy Perry of Herndon, Virginia; grandsons, Joshua Riner of Houston, Texas, and Holden Perry of Hammond, Louisiana; along with three great grandchildren.
A Celebration of James' life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 1:30 pm. Bro. Lamar Huffman of Trinity Baptist Church will be officiating. Also assisting with the service will be Chaplain Ron Perry. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Sunday, from 11:30 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, Louisiana.
