Fannie Vonne was a native of Coushatta, Louisiana and had been a resident of Sulphur for the last 66 years. She was a member of Maplewood First Baptist Church where she served for many years as the youth choir director. She retired after 36 years of service at Citgo Petroleum. Fannie Vonne enjoyed playing the piano and ukulele, and took part in a local music group.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas Glenn Wright and wife, Renee of Sulphur, and Kenneth Michael Wright and wife, Patricia of Lake Charles; one sister, Emma Jane Hill of Fort Madison, Iowa; six grandsons, John, Matthew, Andrew, William, Patrick, and Marshall Wright; and five great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John William Wright.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 10, in Maplewood First Baptist Church. Dr. Ronnie Burke will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
