She was a native of Church Point and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 40 years, moving from Rayne. Ethelene was a member of Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church where she previously served as a Cathechism Teacher. She was a member of VFW Post 8107. She worked for many years as a hair dresser and loved cooking, driving, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, James "Boogie" Ellender of Carlyss; her children, Kevin Ellender and wife, Rhonda of LaPlace, and Kammie Ellender Chesson of Westlake; her brother, Gerald Alleman of Sulphur; her grandchildren, Celina, Kevin, Amber, Brent, Blaine, Dustin, and Amanda; and great-grandchildren, Isaac, Destin, Giada, Jaxon, Lyla, Austin, and Jubilee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Alleman and Celina Cormier Alleman; and her brothers, Hestrelle Alleman, Clyde Alleman, and Ivan Alleman.
