Buck was a native of Hackberry where he worked for Conoco in Westlake for over 28 years. He was an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He loved hunting, fishing, mowing his yard, and anything outdoors. Buck was a huge fan of LSU football, and baseball. His biggest joy in life was to be a caregiver for his wife, children, and grandchildren. Buck will be missed greatly.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are a daughter, Jacqueline "Jacky" Gray of Hackberry; a son, Joseph "Joey" Gray and wife, Becky of Hackberry; a great-niece whom he raised, Annette Gunter of Missouri City, TX; three grandsons, Nick Wolfe, Collin Gray, and Lane Gray all of Hackberry; a brother, C.J. Gray and wife, Joyce of Sulphur; two sisters-in-law, Isabell Gray of Hackberry and Bobbie Gray of Westlake; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann Byler Gray, parents, Jim and Mamie Gray, brothers, Douglas Gray and Royce Gray, sister, Verna Lee Savoie, and a brother-in-law, Peter Byler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry, La. Reverend Arvind Minz, HGN will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hackberry Community Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
