He was a native of Lake Charles and had lived in Westlake for 48 years before moving to Sulphur 2 years ago. Charles served as a teacher in the Calcasieu Parish School System for 40 years, teaching Special Education at F.K. White Middle School, Science, Math, and Ceramics at S.P. Arnett Middle School, and as a Resource Teacher at Western Heights Elementary School. He loved teaching children and also enjoyed painting, carpentry work, playing guitar and harmonica, and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Rita Alderson; his two children, Josh Alderson and fiance’ Patricia Crochet of Sulphur, and Jennifer Alderson of Westlake; brother, Mickey Alderson and wife, Carol Ann and sister, Jeanette Brooks and husband, Hal all of North Carolina; four grandsons, Logan Roessler, Donovan Alderson, Devin Alderson, and Tyler Alderson; and two great-granddaughters, Alita Alderson and Aubreigh Alderson.
